Casa Cacao is a cocoa producing company, located in Puerto Barrios, Izabal. It was born in 2017 within a farm called El Vendaval, with 224,000 square meters of cultivated land with fine and scent cocoa. The technical knowledge was acquired with the support of the FHIA (Fundación Hondureña de Investigación Agrícola), who provide us clones (seeds) considered to be of high productivity and quality. In 2018, two groups of clones were planted, recommended by the FHIA that allow the pollination of cocoa plants. Group 1: ICS1, ICS39, TSH565 and ICS95; Group 2: UF613, UF667, ICS39 and ICS95. In the region we have two strong production seasons: the first one in May, June, and July and the second in November, December and January, In the rest of the months the harvest falls and therefore Casa Cacao is dedicated to the processing and commercialization of the product.
